Indie Nectar
How many breweries are on an island? Not sure but we are guessing not too many, and we are almost positive the others don't have a distillery attached to them like Cisco on Nantucket, MA. It's a unique situation and their IPA is no different. We first noticed the cleverly named 'Indie' serves as an easy visual identification of an IPA, while allowing for a (pun intended) independent offering of their long awaited American style India Pale Ale. The label features a simple yet attractive red star that is synonymous with the island and found on many homes there. Also one of a kind on the label is 3/4 pint along with the standard 12 fl oz. The impression is loud and clear that this brewery beats to their own drum, which we always like to hear. As for the taste, solid malty- not overbearingly bitter at all. Dry hopped makes this a self described East meets West Coast ale.
