A sort of IPA

Our strong ethics and spiritual beliefs prevent us from listing non-IPAs in the epic database you see up top there. The Red Chair NWPA pays respect to the Northwest's (geographic area of the U.S.) contribution to the craft movement through its Northwest Pale Ale label. Deschutes, the brewery responsible for the Red Chair, officially considers it an IPA and/or Pale Ale in their line-up so that's enough for us. Available between January and May, this seasonal offering won the World's Best Beer 2012 from the World Beer Awards (WBA), wow, talk about a top honor.

Brewer Matt Henneous describes his favorite chair lift at the fabled Mt. Bachelor ski resort, "The Red Chair run is my personal favorite-completely unique to Mt. Bachelor. The lift takes you away from the masses on Bachelor and I would say the beer kind of does the same thing." Check out said lift and some nice fresh whole hop nuggets proudly used to brew this 'citrus beer'. We cannot locate one of these to get our paws on, but look forward to popping one open in Tahoe because that shot of the Red Chair in the snow looks really good.
